  Folk painting notes for upsc Madhubani painting From Madhubani bihar Common theme -religious motifs of the Hindu, including Rama, krishna, Durga, lakshmi, shiva . The figure in the painting are symbolic eg :- fish depicts good luck and fertility.   Architecture in Harappan civilisation for UPSC Harappa and Mohenjodaro reval a remarkable of town planning. The town were laid out in a rectangular grid pattern. Roads ran in North - South and East -west, cut each other at right angles.  Three types of building found in the excavation sites  1. Dwelling houses 2. Public building 3. Public bath City was divided into two parts  1. Upraised citadel - western part were used for construction of large dimension eg :-  granaries, administrative building, pillared Hall, courtyard, residents of rulers and aristocrats.  2.Lower part - small one room found for working class people. Some of the house have been found stairs which indicate they might have double storied.. Mostly building have private wells and properly ventilated bathroom.  Public bath   Important featured of the harappan sites, which indicate the importance of ritualistic cleansing in their culture.  Laxmikant is the flesh and bone of polity section of UPSC . When you are serious for UPSC then you have to go it for polity section . Also known bibel of polity . Considering it in that way , one should read it multiple times. Reading it should be done with the objective of getting a hang of overall constitution and polity aspect as well as knowing about article numbers ,cases and many more Enough book for pre and main prospective, if you follow this steps these would definitely help for reading it . Start with 2nd chapter Read it till the end , because it helps to gain lots of information and you can easily tackle polity concept . According your first reading you have to go 15 to 20 days in properly 6 hour for completing. Once it is done ,go to the 2nd reading . Keep on reading and revisions. For mains you would need to add more of current affairs, bill and acts .  Really it has worked for me for the first attempt itself. You may modify the technique as per your convenience . Best of
